Today I would like to talk more about math classes.
First, in the first class of the day, students greet the teacher.
It ’s like “Sawadhika, Aja xxx”.
“Sawadhika” plays the whole of greeting in Thai. This one is very useful because it represents the meaning of “Hello”, “good morning”, “Good evening,” “goodbye”. “Aja” means teacher.
“Sawadeka, Aja SUZUKA” . The students greet all teachers with their hands facing and making eye contact with teacher. I ’m a little shy and I ’m holding hands and listening to the words.
As I mentioned in the other post, the students sit side by side on the floor instead of the desk and listen to the teacher.
Arithmetic classes are conducted in the following procedure.
Review → Input of new knowledge → Output through assignment → Summary
I will explain them one by one.
review
This is mainly done using the problems solved in the previous lesson. Although it is not limited to reviewing, the teacher does not evil everything on the blackboard, but proceeds with the students giving their opinions each time.

Input of new knowledge
This is the main process of class. Based on the examples, teachers teach students the process of “how to answer”.
Output through assignments
It is mainly a group activity using prints. Students are required to explain the process of thinking rather than just answer the question. They need to show their thoughts with text, pictures, figures and formulas. There are so many blanks that they have to fill in that they share the work and fill in the prints.

Conclusion
Particularly well-printed and well-thought-out groups will present their ideas in front of everyone. If they go ahead, first introduce themselves.
Finally, the teacher summarizes the lesson.

In general, I feel that it is the same as Japanese classes, but I am still not used to the fact that the students are on the floor. There are times when the morning ceremony is prolonged and the review is omitted, and sometimes it’s personal work instead of group work. It is very fun and interesting to observe physical elementary school classes.
